In not a few instances, I’ve heard young working professionals talking about how independent they are, not only financially but how free they are from the confines of office building, from the watchful eyes of the boss and from the ever imposing presence of the bundy clock - if you are familiar with the device that prints the time of arrival and departure on your time card - before the advent of the biometrics.

Ahhh! Lucky Man! - my impression. Some of them are in their late 20s others early 30s. They must be the boss, the owners of the business? Comparing how my laboring days (say, years) were spent from 8 to 5, Monday to Friday, January to December, stringent and disciplined schedule, I can not help but envy those guys.

What Not To Do On Your Retirement Years!

One of the dangers of being retired is to be idle - physically and mentally. When I finally decided to go on retirement stage, I constantly remind myself this saying: “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop”. So, I offered my time in specific church activities. Go walking as regular as I possibly can, no intense physical exercises. And, read any materials worth reading, especially the Holy Scriptures. However, after sometime, I found out that I still have some idle time that I could use somewhere…

Answered Prayers

One late evening towards the end of June 2018, I came across an invitation to join FVA Family - Filipino Virtual Assistance. My curiosity leads me to inquire from Coach Kathy and she got me convinced to enroll in FVA’s program.

Apprehension, initially, is overwhelming me. Due, in most part, to my inadequacy in the latest technology being used in the program. Although I have been using the standard applications in visual, letter writing and computing, social media is a little “strange” to me. Relentless and persistent urging plus pushing and assuring words by our tireless and hard-working tandem Coaches, Kathy and Grace, had me reached this stage of the program - and now am writing my first blog.

On My Way To Being A Virtual Assistant !

I have read from various reliable and credible sources that age is not a big factor in applying for a virtual assistant job. It is not an exclusive domain for the youth, but for much older and perhaps, wiser people, as well.

Now, I have equipped myself with the various social media accounts like facebook, instagram, twitter and linkedin. I am ready to do business! Let’s get in on!
